　　994年諾貝爾文學獎得主，日本戰後最重要的作家之一。1935年生於日本四國愛媛縣，就讀東京大學期間開始寫小說。1958年以〈飼育〉獲得芥川獎，奠定文壇地位。1963年，大江患有先天性腦疾的長子光出生，隨後訪查廣島原爆地區，開始連載《廣島札記》。1967年以《萬延元年的足球隊》獲谷崎潤一郎獎。1969年，多次走訪沖繩後，開始連載《沖繩札記》。另著有《個人的體驗》、《燃燒的綠樹》、《換取的孩子》、《再見，我的書！》、《水死》等。2023年逝世。

　　大江的創作橫跨小說、隨筆與評論，長年關注日本的戰爭責任、民主主義和弱者處境。大江等九位日本作家曾一同成立「九條會」，致力於維護日本和平憲法第九條、反對核武與戰爭，也曾在書中寫到沖繩人在戰時被迫「集體自盡」的歷史，而被右翼團體告上法庭，最終大江勝訴。大江的文學承載歷史、現實與道德的複雜意涵，對日本與世界皆有深遠影響。

　　三島由紀夫

　　本名平岡公威，一九二五年出生於東京。一九四七年自東京大學法學部畢業，通過高等文官考試，隨後進入大藏省任職，隔年為了專心從事寫作而從大藏省離職，開始專職作家的生涯。
 
　　三島由紀夫在日本文壇擁有高度聲譽，其作品在西方世界也有崇高的評價，曾三度獲得諾貝爾文學獎提名，也是二戰結束之後西方譯介最多的日本作家之一。
 
　　三島對日本傳統的武士道精神深為讚賞，他對日本二次大戰後社會的西化和日本主權受制於美國非常不滿。一九七〇年十一月二十五日他帶領四名「盾會」成員前往陸上自衛隊東部總監部，挾持師團長要求軍事政變，期使自衛隊能轉變為正常的軍隊，但是卻乏人響應，因而切腹自殺以身殉道，走上了日本武士最絢爛的歸途。

Disaster Strikes At The Worst Possible Time!
