All Hana wanted was a simple life. The Pitfalls Of Experience

Three months after the events of Candle Woods, Yuki plunges back into the world of death games. This time, she's participating in Scrap Building, a race to escape an abandoned structure filled with deadly traps. But ti make it out alive, she must contend with Mishiro, a haughty, pretentious player intent on getting in her way. Then time goes by, and Yuki finds herself in a game called Golden Bath, staring down the Wall of Thirty - a curse in the industry where misfortune befalls players around their thirtieth game. Whether the effects of the curse are real or her awareness of the phenomenon is tripping her up, one thing is for certain - Yuki is in bad shape as she contends with her toughest game yet.

Yuki wakes up to find herself in an unfamiliar manor, wearing a maid uniform and lying on a luxurious bed. Soon, she discovers five more girls, all dressed the same as her. Published in Chinese, they highlight the city as seen through the lens of Chinese literary expression, while also embracing works that were first written in English and lovingly translated into Chinese.

About the Editor

Ang Lai Sheng (汪来昇, 1987–) is a Singaporean writer, translator, publisher, and columnist, and the Co-founder & Editor-in-Chief of TrendLit Publishing. His works and essays have been published across Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China. He is the author of the poetry collections After Commotion, The Void (2014) and Destroy All Gods (2016), and editor of anthologies including Never Before – 50 Essential Poems (2018), Streets & Places of Singapore (Vol. 1 & 2, 2022, 2025), and Impressions of Singapore (2023). He is also the Chinese-language translator of Anything but Human (2025) and The World May Say This, But I Believe That! (2025).

Beyond his publications, Ang champions emerging voices, fosters cross-cultural literary dialogue, and conducts workshops and talks for writers and educators. He has twice served as Writer-in-Residence for the Ministry of Education’s Chinese Language Elective Programme and was honoured with the 2023 NTU School of Humanities Alumni Award for his contributions to literature and publishing.
