the space between branches◎Low Kian Seh
Regular price $24.00About the Book
At its heart, this collection of confessional poems is about family and the familiar, as well as reality and relationships. Explored through the poet’s introspection of his life, each poem documents his experiences from childhood through to adulthood, extracting common ground. The poems explore universal themes of love, pain, grief and loss, centred in a Singaporean context, with familiar Asian parental influences. The book’s sequence loosely follows the order of what appears to be a family tree, and through the interlinkage of lives, the poet as a person is the product of the intertwining lives. Here, the space between branches delves into the poet’s arborescent linkages and interactions with the people in his life and circumstances.
