About the Book

Pierre Tan took part in a debate competition when he studied in Zitan High School, a secondary school in Singapore. Years later, he returns as a teacher and finds himself assigned to prepare his students for the same competition. While he is keen to take on the task, he feels conflicted because he would have to work more closely with his boss, Chen Kai Wen, whom Pierre wanted to avoid due to their complicated relationship in the past.

The team consists of four students with personalities so distinct that it is a challenge to get along, let alone debate together. To make matters worse, they soon realise this is not just a test of their intellect, but also their emotional fortitude as they navigate debate topics that resonate deeply with their personal lives. 

Pierre tries to fulfil his duty as a teacher by putting up a strong front to encourage his students. But beneath the façade, he still struggles to cope with the painful memories brought to surface by this competition, and by Kai Wen's insistent attempts to reconnect with him.

About the Author

Beatrix is an ordinary Singaporean auntie who happens to be obsessed with Boys' Love. She sees BL everywhere, in all forms of media, on the streets, and even among inanimate objects like the poor toothbrushes sitting in her mug. While most of her romantic delusions reside exclusively in her brain, some tumble out by accident in the form of original stories and fanfiction. She spends her days writing, fantasising and gaming under the cover of a functioning human being. If you read her works, please know that she is extremely grateful even if she hides from view.
